I think the mason jar fad got slightly cooler. These audio speakers were designed by Rhode Island School of Design student Sarah Pease in response to MIT PhD candidate David Mellis' challenge to create new ways for people to enjoy their music. I think they were having a "smart off" (similar to a "dance off" but with brains). I digress...The speakers are powered by AA batteries and called 'audio jars'. Very cool.
