mason jar speakers

I think the mason jar fad got slightly cooler. These audio speakers were designed by Rhode Island School of Design student Sarah Pease in response to MIT PhD candidate David Mellis' challenge to create new ways for people to enjoy their music. I think they were having a "smart off" (similar to a "dance off" but with brains).  I digress...The speakers are powered by AA batteries and called 'audio jars'. Very cool.

Granted, this is just a concept camera, but how fun would an Instagram 'real' camera be? Right now, it's just a fun app, but a company is raising funds to develop this 16 GB, 2 lens camera complete with Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities. My offspring and I went to Maker Faire yesterday. It's the two-day, “festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness” in San Mateo. It was pretty amazing...robots of every size and shape, kinetic sculptures, things on fire, cars, bikes, cupcake cars, hybrids, jewelry-making, hand-made clothing, circuitry, amazing furniture kits and Lego Jeeps. Sounds weird, I know, but it was really fun. Learn more about it here.

sleek little magnus

I don't think you could find a more minimal iPad stand.  Magnus is created from pure aluminum and then hand-finished.  After that, customized magnets are installed into the base, and rubberized feet are fitted to the bottom surface.  Magic magnets hold your iPad up with no visible structure in the front.  Cool.
