DIY planters

photos by fellowfellow for say yes...

So, if you're like me, the realization of summer vacation has left slow burnville and is morphing into full-tilt panic. Summer is here. Game on! What fun things can we do to avoid the tv, boredom, and endless summer camp? Here is a start - a very fun, surprisingly simple craft project of handmade clay pots using oven bake clay. See the whole tutorial by fellowfellow here on say yes to hoboken.

camping under the stars

You are definitely sleeping under the stars in this limited edition FieldCandy Space tent. It's not just for fun either - this tent is a high-performance A-frame storm tent, based on the hardiest expedition tents on the market today. Extreme weather is no problem. On sale now for $700. Father's Day gift, maybe?

feather + moss

I love this store. I used to collect weird, little things like this (and I gifted my offspring with this quirky gene). Feather and Moss has eclectic curiosity cabinets, jewelry, feathers, minerals, etc. Great, real items for your little science buff.

maker faire

photos by BB's iphone

My offspring and I went to Maker Faire yesterday. It's the two-day, “festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness” in San Mateo. It was pretty amazing...robots of every size and shape, kinetic sculptures, things on fire, cars, bikes, cupcake cars, hybrids, jewelry-making, hand-made clothing, circuitry, amazing furniture kits and Lego Jeeps. Sounds weird, I know, but it was really fun. Learn more about it here.

(plexi) glass house

I want this for my backyard! Artist Tom Fruin created this from steel, found plexiglass, and paint. A stained glass house - how cool. Saw this on Pinterest.
